Spain has many hidden treasures beyond the big cities. For a more authentic experience, I’d suggest visiting places like Salamanca, a beautiful historic town known for its famous university, or the town of Ronda in Andalusia, which is perched on a cliff with incredible views. If you're looking for nature and stunning beaches, the Costa Brava or the island of Mallorca offer amazing scenery without the big crowds.
As for transportation, Spain has a very efficient public transport system, especially between major cities. The high-speed AVE trains can get you from Madrid to Seville or Barcelona in just a few hours, and they are very comfortable. If you plan to explore smaller towns or rural areas, renting a car might be a good option to have more flexibility and access places that are harder to reach by public transport. Spain offers such a wide range of experiences depending on where you go. I’ve been to a few places in Spain, including Valencia and Madrid, and they were both fantastic in their own way. Madrid is vibrant and full of life, with lots of museums and beautiful parks, while Valencia has a more laid-back vibe, great for food lovers. While I personally prefer the bigger cities, I can understand why smaller towns might appeal to those looking for a quieter, more local experience.
